<p>Jacques Villeneuve tells <a href="https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12474/13342144/japanese-gp-ferrari-know-they-are-in-trouble-as-lewis-hamilton-slams-qualifying-session-as-not-good-enough" title="">Sky Sports that Ferrari &#8220;know they are in trouble&#8221; after Lewis Hamilton and teammate Charles Leclerc were disqualified from the Chinese Grand Prix two weeks prior, qualifying eighth and fourth, respectively, for the Japanese Grand Prix.</a> Ferrari &#8220;know they are in trouble&#8221; after Lewis Hamilton and teammate Charles Leclerc qualified in eighth and fourth place for the Japanese Grand Prix, respectively, two weeks after both were eliminated from the Chinese Grand Prix.</p>



<p>The highlight of Hamilton&#8217;s Ferrari career thus far has been a sprint victory in China. He and Leclerc finished 10th and eighth in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, respectively, and now have single-figure point totals ahead of Sunday&#8217;s race at Suzuka.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Hamilton: I am not good enough</h3>



<p>Hamilton said that his qualifying performance was &#8220;not good enough from my side&#8221; and that he finished more than six tenths behind Max Verstappen, the unexpected pole sitter.</p>



<p>At Suzuka, Red Bull driver Verstappen broke the lap record of McLaren&#8217;s championship leader Lando Norris to take the top spot.</p>



<p>Hamilton was disqualified in China two weeks ago due to excessive skid-block wear, which may have been the cause of Ferrari&#8217;s higher <a href='https://uslawpulse.com/best-car-accident-lawyers-in-california-2025-guide' target='_blank' rel='follow'>car</a> in Japan.</p>
