Jaguar TCS Racing unveils new Oxfordshire headquarters ahead of the season

The Jaguar Racing Team is getting ready for the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship by opening a new technical headquarters in Kidlington, Oxfordshire.
At the newly opened Fortescue WAE facility, the British race team has moved to the cutting-edge innovation center.
Following this, the winning team will carry on designing, developing, and producing the powertrains for the four racecars powered by Jaguars, as the fruitful partnership with Envision Racing enters its second season.
The new facility includes a sub assembly room where the main cases, gearboxes, suspension, and cooling systems are assembled, a workshop with car work bays that serve as dedicated stations for working on the Jaguar’s Formula E race cars, and an HV Lab where the team assembles MGUs and invertors, two essential pieces of their powertrain hardware, among many other specially designed rooms.
Additionally, it serves as the location of the team’s driver-in-the-loop simulator, where drivers Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans will test and get ready for the 2024 races, which will take place at both the new and old circuits in some of the most thrilling cities on earth.
Engineers at Jaguar TCS Racing’s remote operations room, located at the Kidlington headquarters, will be responsible for providing crucial setup and strategy support to their trackside colleagues during the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. These colleagues may be working at the renowned Monaco circuit or the new E-Prix in Tokyo.
Formula E remains an actual testing ground for electric vehicle software and hardware in a high-performance setting. In order to compete for World Championship success, Jaguar TCS Racing and their network of elite partners create and innovate new, cutting-edge technology while also learning race-to-road lessons for software, sustainability, and electric powertrain advancements. Jaguar’s Formula E race cars provide innovation and technology transfer that helps the company reimagine itself as an all-electric, contemporary luxury brand starting in 2025.
Jaguar TCS Racing threw an exclusive immersion event to celebrate the opening of the new facility. Its purpose was to introduce the new team base and display some of their cutting-edge materials and technical innovations through custom art installations.
James Barclay, Managing Director of JLR Motorsport and Jaguar TCS Racing Team Principal, and Judith Judson, CEO of Fortescue WAE, opened the event, which provided an overview of the facilities, technology, and dedicated staff that go into making a World Championship-winning vehicle.
