Starting in 2025, a racing prototype of the ultimate hypercar, the Aston Martin Valkyrie, will compete for the overall victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the race for which it was designed.

In the top Hypercar class of the FIA World Endurance Championship [WEC] and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championships [IMSA] starting in 2025, Aston Martin will field at least one Valkyrie racecar thanks to the invaluable assistance and support of Heart of Racing [HoR], their championship-winning endurance racing partner. The prototype Valkyrie will thus compete in the 12 Hours of Sebring, the Rolex 24 at Daytona, and Le Mans, three of the most prominent sportscar racing competitions.

Almost every era has seen more than 240 drivers compete in Aston Martin races at Le Mans over the course of the last 95 years, using 27 distinct chassis and engine combinations. Aston Martin has had more success at no other location, which further demonstrates how our culture is rooted in the spirit of competition. In the year that the brand commemorates its 110th anniversary, it is only fitting that it announces its return to the world’s greatest endurance race with the most powerful hypercar ever created.

The Heart of Racing team will lead Aston Martin’s programs in both the WEC and IMSA after it is approved. The Valkyrie race car is the only one of its competitors that can be traced back to an existing production car and the first purebred hypercar to compete in both championships.
