844-Mile Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach Hits the Auction Block

Alongside the Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1, the Porsche 918 Spyder represents a pivotal shift in supercar evolution, proving that hybrid technology could enhance, rather than dilute, extreme performance. While not as raw or analog as its predecessor, the Carrera GT, the 918 is more versatile, combining breathtaking speed with everyday usability. It also led its rivals in electric-only range, fuel efficiency, and emissions, wrapped in the most restrained design of the trio.

Built around a carbon fiber–reinforced chassis, the mid-engine 918 pairs a 4.6-liter flat-plane-crank V-8 derived from Porsche’s RS Spyder LMP2 racer with two electric motors. The V-8 revs to 9,000 rpm and produces 608 horsepower, while the hybrid system delivers a combined 887 horsepower and 994 lb-ft of torque. The result is sub-2.5-second 0–60 mph acceleration and a 211-mph top speed.

This 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach represents one of the most advanced road cars ever produced, with just 918 examples built worldwide. Showing only 844 miles, this particular car is finished in paint-to-sample Pure Orange, a $21,000 option that is echoed inside with matching color-to-sample interior piping over a black cabin.

The Weissach Package adds extensive weight-saving measures and performance-focused hardware, complemented by carbon fiber aerodynamics, an Inconel top-exit exhaust, and magnesium center-lock wheels sized 20 inches front and 21 inches rear.

Additional highlights include Porsche Active Suspension Management, torque vectoring plus, active aerodynamics, front-axle lift, and carbon-ceramic hybrid brakes with Acid Green calipers. It is set to be offered at Mecum’s upcoming Kissimmee 2026 auction on January 16.
